Campbell River is home to three Business Improvement Associations (BIA's) - Downtown, Pier Street and Willow Point. The associations demonstrate leadership that champions strong, vibrant and successful shopping regions within our community.
Downtown BIA
The purpose of the Downtown BIA is to promote downtown Campbell River as a vibrant, safe and business-friendly place.
The BIA also liaises with the City on behalf of Downtown. We advocate on issues such as landscaping, facilities maintenance, lighting and safety.
Pier Street BIA
The Pier Street BIA was established in the late 1990's when a group of interested merchants and property owners got together to form the Pier Street Association. It is a volunteer group that plans fundraising events to raise money for implementing projects in the area They have implements murals, flower barrels, an area clean up and most famously the popular Farmer's Market (since 2003). They work closely with City of Campbell River and local media to give Pier Street a high profile in our community.
Willow Point BIA
The Willow Point BIA is a non-profit society directed by a volunteer Board of Directors selected by merchants and property owners. It provides both the organizational structure and sourcing of funds to enable the local business community to improve and promote business success in the Willow Point area.
The BIA is funded through a special levy charged on all properties within a designated area in Willow Point based on the assessed value of the property and improvements (buildings). 100% of the funds collected are directed to the BIA and are used for basic operations and achieving the objectives of the BIA.
